All top-rope belayers as well as lead belayers and lead climbers must pass a test given by a HAF staff member in order to be certified to climb at High Altitude Fitness.
This test is pass or fail and is designed to make sure everyone climbing or belaying in the rock gym is actively demonstrating safe climbing.
You DO NOT need to know how to belay to climb at our facility.
However, if you intend to climb with a partner, using the ropes, you will need to be belay certified.
We offer six TRU BLU auto belay systems.
See how they work here.
Old shoes are fine to borrow; however, borrowing old safety gear including harnesses, ropes and carabiners or belay devices are not recommended.
