DJ's Martial Arts & Fitness of Oakland, CA is celebrating over 26 years in business. The martial arts & fitness studio is located in the Laurel District of Oakland. It is a black owned buisness both owned and directed by Grandmaster Doug Jones, a martial artist who has practiced his art for over 46 years. He received his first Black Belt in 1976 and currently holds the rank of a 9th degree Black Sash.
Grandmaster Doug practices Wun Hop Kuen Do, a branch of Kajukenbo, developed by Senior Grandmaster Al Dacascos. It is a fist fighting art style considered one of the first mixed martial arts. WHKD is 70% Kungfu, 20% Karate, 10% Judo & Jujitso. DJ's Martial Arts & Fitness offers programs for youth, adults and seniors in all levels of training and fitness.

Services
While fighting is a major part of our training, it is not our primary purpose.
We offer classes for youth over the age of 5 years.
Our martial arts programs require an enrollment fee with monthly dues.
There are also additional costs for uniforms and periodic belt testing fees.
Our Youth classes are on Tuesday & Thursday afernoon, and there is also a mixed level class (Youth & Adult) on Saturday mornings.
We offer programs for Rising Stars which is for our youth that have some challenges in their abilities to relate and learn, Wolf Pack are our youngest students, Young Warriors are our older youth who perform at generally higher belt levels.
