Lifeworks is a private fitness facility where we have built a community of people who strive to inspire and support one another in the constant pursuit of a longer, healthier, happier life. We know our members - their names, strengths, weaknesses, families - and they know ours. At Lifeworx, our staff, our members and each new-comer co-exist in a friendly, supportive and warm atmosphere; you'll always feel at-home and part of the family!

Mary Burks, our owner, opened Lifeworx in July of 2010. She was on a mission to create a gym where people of all levels felt welcome and adequately challenged. After more than 20 years of experience in the fitness industry, Mary was introduced to the discipline of CrossFit and she proudly opened Lifeworx as a CrossFit affiliate. Though we are no longer associated with CrossFit, we believe in the roots of its methodology.

Lifeworx Fitness offers our clients private training, partner or small group training and group Functional Fitness classes. Our Functional Fitness classes are appropriate for all levels and they are all taught by some of the most decorated coaches in the Bay Area.

In 2016, Lifeworx partnered with a brand new fitness company, owned and operated by longtime Lifeworx community member and local firefighter, Amber (Shay) Mountford.
She has spearheaded an incredible program, specifically designed to help train, guide, motivate and prepare the next generation of elite firefighters and athletes.
Our services directly complement one another, as Shay implements firefighter-specific training tactics with general fitness for her clientele.
We are thrilled to be connected to this project!
Our group classes are built around the methodology of Functional Fitness, taught by some of the most capable and charismatic coaches in the Bay Area.
We take our classes through a dynamic warm-up (including basic body care tricks!), a weight training or skill session, a metabolic conditioning (cardio) session and a cool down.
Every workout is uniquely different, offering a challenge to your physical and mental training.
Our specialty is providing effective programming and excellent coaching in an environment that is welcoming to everyone.
Every new member is required to go through 3 one-hour private training sessions with a coach.
Our priority is to help all our members feel confident and see valuable results from the time spent at Lifeworx.
We use these sessions to teach our basic expectations for proper form and technique so that you can feel prepared when you begin attending classes regularly.
These sessions are scheduled when it is convenient for you - tell us some days/times that work best for you and we'll match you up with a coach!
We are here to coach and implement workouts designed only for you to achieve your healthy lifestyle.
We offer private training where you work one on one with a coach.
If you prefer to work toward your goals with a friend we offer partner training.
More than one friend?
Small group training up to 5 people maximum may be a great option for you!
