Services
For all clients I perform fitness assessments and develop progressive, individualized exercise programs based on age, skill-level, health issues, and goals to help them achieve their fitness aspirations and improve their well-being.
Beginner - Having a private and serene place with my one-on-one attention is the perfect combination to learn and achieve fitness.
Older Adult - According to the National Institute of Health (NIH) being physically active on a regular basis is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself as you age and it is never too late to improve many physical functions.
Many of my clients start with no prior knowledge of exercise.
My passion is to help you learn to love taking care of your body, become strong, and discover that fitness can be both fun and attainable.
The goal is for you to make a lifelong commitment to fitness and health.
Did you know that Weight Training is considered a cardiovascular exercise and therefore has all the same benefits as traditional cardiovascular exercise such as improved sleep, glucose metabolism, cardiovascular efficiency, mood, energy, and even memory?
It is now known that losing the ability to do things on one's own has more to do with inactivity.
Exercise helps maintain the things you like to do and therefore keeps you independent.
It is important for physical and mental health.
It helps prevent falls and improves or prevents osteoporosis.
Being physically active and exercising regularly can help prevent or delay many diseases and disabilities, including dementia.
In addition, even those already frail or who have diseases associated with aging can improve with moderate exercise and physical activity according to the NIH.
It's important to use training as a vehicle to enhance performance, not just to improve strength.
Training will refine your movement skills, body and feet positions, strength, endurance, and power needed for your sport.
Most importantly, people participating in their sport once or twice a week and not training their bodies in between are at risk for multiple injuries.
Sports place many demands on the body that are different than our every day movement patterns and it is therefore necessary to prepare the body for these demands.
Often insurance discharges people from physical therapy before they are 100% recovered.
In fact, insurance can only focus on the injury itself so often times one will discover when they start training the whole body that other muscles are very weak.
The focus is on a comprehensive fitness program that includes cardiovascular, flexibility, balance, core stability, and of course resistance training.
One continues to rehabilitate while also preventing future injuries and becoming stronger and more physically fit.
