The building housing the Downingtown Rock Gym (formerly Vertical Extreme) has a unique history.
It sits on campus originally built by Pepperidge Farm as their second modern facility.
As the business grew and more markets were opening up in the Mid Atlantic States, this plant was built and opened in 1949.
The structure where the gym resides was used to house the flour silos which is why it is so tall in comparison to the surrounding buildings.
The Downingtown Rock Gym is the first expansion gym for Dave Pastorok, owner of Doylestown Rock Gym.
