JG Fitness & Performance was born of my passion for helping others realize the positive impact that exercise and nutrition can have on one's life. My clients range from those looking to make a lifestyle change, to athletes seeking to reach a higher level of performance. I offer training in both private and small group settings.

Working with me, you are treated as an individual, even in the small group atmosphere, and a high level of care and attention to detail goes into developing effective yet enjoyable workouts SPECIFICALLY for YOU.I believe in a holistic approach to coaching in order to deliver a well balanced program that will help you achieve your goals. Workouts generally include strength training, flexibility, corrective exercises, metabolic conditioning, yoga moves, and recovery methods.

A true lifestyle change means more than just working out. While exercise IS important, so is how you treat your body through nutrition, with active recovery, and sometimes even complete rest.

I began participating in sports at the early age of six and continued my competitive athletic career at Gettysburg College in both varsity soccer and swimming, earning many athletic and academic distinctions.
It was in college that I first discovered the amazing world of human performance science.
I graduated with a dual Bachelor's degree in Biology and Exercise Science and immediately embarked on my journey in health and fitness, working as a fitness specialist, certified personal trainer, physical therapy aide, and assistant collegiate women's soccer and golf coach before finding my niche in strength and conditioning.
At one time or another since 2013, every single member of my family has worked out with Julia.
While others have moved on (to Crossfit - I know, crazy.)
I have fewer episodes of back and joint pain and have no problems riding my bicycle which has become my favorite thing to do.
With Julia's help, I not only can keep up with all the other people I ride with, but I often LEAVE THEM IN MY DUST! Oh, and did I mention I am 68?!
I attribute the improvements in my balance, flexibility, strength, and overall stamina to my sessions with Julia.
I started working out with Julia the summer before my senior year in high school during the height of the college lacrosse recruiting season for my class.
From the beginning Julia impressed me with her focus on good form, a strong core, flexibility, and responding to how your body feels.
I came to her with most parts of my body being extremely tight and a weak core that hid behind the strength of my legs for most of my life.
She immediately recognized these flaws and concentrated both stretches and exercises to strengthen the small muscles that were causing me issues.
As an owner of a Physical Therapy practice and strength coach myself, I can attest to the extraordinary level of attention and individuality that Julia puts into her programs.
I have had the pleasure of both instructing and working along side coach Julia for a number of years now.
I can truly say that she dedicates herself to her clients and focuses on their goals and challenges 100%.
She puts her clients first and backs her knowledge with both experience and an unquenchable thirst for information.
