Founded by the Marston Family in 2004, Basics is a spacious, clean, and inviting fitness center where exercisers of all ability levels feel comfortable and supported by each other and by our friendly, knowledgeable staff. Basics is an independent, locally owned and operated business. Through our 14 years of experience and steadfast commitment to professional guidance and customer service, Basics has earned the trust of the community we serve.

We work closely with physicians and physical therapists to design and implement safe and effective exercise programs for our members. When educating members we focus on three main components of exercise: strength training, cardiovascular exercise, and stretching. Our program also includes a range of fun and effective group fitness classes. At Basics we are people helping people and our goal is to improve the health and quality of life of our community one member at a time.

A personal trainer can do a variety of things, such as creating a customized workout program that is individualized to your unique lifestyle, body type and goals.
They also can take your current workout to the next level, motivate and inspire you, and work with you on improving stamina, strength and flexibility.
A consult with our Nutrition Specialist is available to every member as a part of their initial enrollment or quarterly review.
This starter package is ideal for someone wanting to lose 5 - 10 pounds or looking for a nutrition tune-up.
For those seeking to lose 6 - 20 pounds, this package offers great savings and 5 additional weeks of weight loss support.
Designed for maximum support and maximum savings, this package offers 24 consecutive weeks of weight loss coaching which is ideal for anyone striving to lose 20 or more pounds.
Historically, physical therapy has been used primarily as restorative care to regain strength and mobility after an injury or surgery or for a medical condition.
However, when a patient is discharged from physical therapy, they often have questions and need assistance to progress their exercise program to reach their full fitness potential.
Therefore, in April of 2012, Casco Bay Physical Therapy and Basics Fitness Center partnered to bridge this gap and successfully help patients transform from a simple home exercise program, to a holistic, structured fitness program.

We also offer a FREE TRIAL WEEK including a one-on-one instructional session.
This is a great way to get a feel for our program before joining.
Membership Includes a fitness consultation and 2 help sessions with a personal trainer.
Our staff will support and educate you on our safe and uncomplicated approach to getting started with exercise.
At Basics we take the time to review your fitness level, medical history, and communicate with your physician and or physical therapist.
