I have been in training since I was about 12. Training for football was basically where it all began.
I don't possess the size, strength or speed to be a highly competitive football player.
Honestly, I don't have the genetics.
I guess I could have chosen a different mom and dad, right!
Anyway, my passion for fitness began at a young age and has directed me in many aspects of my life.
After high school and entering the Marine Corps I continued to train.
You are reading the message of a gym rat who, through self-discovery and dedication, is running a fitness program to share with all those who want to be as fit as they can be.
If you're not comfortable with that I really don't see it as being that imperative to you getting started.
It can be good for you seeing progress.
You'll see a difference by the way your clothes feel and by the way you're moving with increased flexability.
You'll feel stronger and more vibrant.
To me those speak volumes that whatever we right down on paper are just that numbers on paper.
It is important though.
And when you are comfortable we will document everything.
That's what I'm really big on is documentation.
Your body is not doing one thing and then another.
Your metabolism is working all the time.
It's either in anabolism (building up), with rest and sleep, or it is in catabolism (breaking down - training, daily activities).
The more stressful those activities, the more you're tearing down tissue (muscle).
With that comes a combination of muscle tone and fat burning or muscle repair and calorie consumption.
Your body needs fuel to build itself up.
A balanced diet reassures your metabolism and decreases the buildup of body fat.
It was a combination of low self image and the actual images below that helped motivate myself to get with Richard Herrin.
On the boat I was consuming a giant mug of Wild Turkey and Coke.
I thought I was going to die, and looking back on that workout I know that it was really easy.
I told Richard I wanted to be a model client.
This is something I am sure he had heard many times before in some form or another only to have the people making the statement not follow up on the pledge.
After all, people don't get fat by being committed to anything other than laziness and gluttony.
