Get all of the fitness with none of the judgement, shame and punishment that is inflicted by diet culture. I design a program that addresses any movement quality issues while also increasing strength, stamina and skill where your body is ready for the challenge. You can feel good and get stronger without making fitness your life's project. I can help you cultivate a training practice that allows you to worry less about your workouts and focus more on the people and experiences that matter most to you.

Bring your curious, open mind to our sessions and I'll provide guidance, structure and support to help you reach your just right fitness goals. There was a time when "maintaining my body" was my main priority in life. Scarcely a moment went by when I wasn't thinking about or planning my next meal or workout. This took so much of my time, energy and attention that I had little left (and what was left was low quality) to invest in the stuff that really mattered to me like my family, my work and my well being.

In 2012, I channelled my love of learning, teaching and helping people into fitness and became a certified personal trainer.
While I was in it to help people feel strong, capable and confident, I personally felt the pressure to "look the part" of a fitness professional i.e.
These days, I train for health, to feel good, for ease of movement and to extend the longevity of my independence as I age.
I enjoy training and nourishing my body in a relaxed, non-fussy way that does not take up an extraordinary amount of time or energy.
I design a program that addresses any movement quality issues (like flexibility, balance, and stability) while also increasing your strength, stamina, and skill where your body is ready to meet the (just right) challenge of training for your goals.
I'll reassess along the way to track progress and make adjustments in the program where needed so that you can continue (or start!) enjoying the activities that matter most to you.

I believe all bodies are worthy of respect and care.
As someone who lives in a thin, able-bodied, heterosexual, cisgender body, I understand that I benefit from unearned privileges and I prioritize the comfort of those who hold marginalized identities (based on race, sexual orientation, gender, abilities and body shape or size) over those who hold dominant identities.
I am committed to dismantling systems of oppression and I take full responsibility for my continuous education around issues of social justice.
You have your own deeply meaningful life agenda (and spending all your time and energy trying to conform to conventional beauty standards isn't part of it).
You see your body as an instrument and a vehicle that helps you do all kinds of important and interesting things (not as an object on display for others).
You would like to engage in fitness and nutritional practices that help you care for your body so that you can do these things more efficiently and enjoyably.
But mainstream fitness is often overwhelmingly focused on weight loss and aesthetics than it is on your actual ability to perform the activities you care about with more stamina and ease.
An 8 week beginning strength training program that builds you up without breaking you down.
We know exercising is important for us mentally, physically and spiritually.
It lifts our mood, improves our health, increases our strength and suppleness and boosts our energy levels.
This means we can show up more fully to nurture meaningful relationships, engage in interesting hobbies and do important work in the world.
Cultivating a just right, good enough fitness practice allows us to do more of what we enjoy with more stamina and enthusiasm.
