Clay Fitness
Life is slowly creeping back to "normal." Many of us have been vaccinated and feel reasonably safe to meet face-to-face again, even unmasked. Some of us couldn't get the vaccine because of age, pre-existing conditions or auto-immune disorders. Members of our community fall into both of these categories. In an effort to safely support people in either group (and everyone in between) as things move forward, we will be offering a variety of services for the time being.

There will still be plenty of online, real-time Zoom classes being offered (see "Class Schedule" tab and scroll down to see the weekly schedule we're planning for the next session). We are offering a number of in-person, outdoor park workouts open to anyone. There will also be a couple of small (5-person) in-person group classes offered for vaccinated clients only.

And we will continue to offer in-person one-on-one personal training sessions. We will continue to follow the science and let that dictate all precautions we are taking to keep you safe.
Services
At Clay Fitness we think every class should be a positive experience.
We offer innovative programs and classes that help educate the community, motivate people to make lasting change, and help them integrate these changes into their lives.
Because our goal is to make every hour with us a worthwhile investment, we strive to teach clients something new about fitness, physiology, nutrition, and body mechanics.
Whether in a class, a 12-week program, or a personal training session at Clay, clients are learning to make better choices about their fitness and health for life.
Eve started her fitness journey with yoga in 1998 in Austin, TX.
After graduating from UVA, she spent several years ignoring her health at a desk job in human resources and wanted to get fit and healthy before starting a family.
Eve greatly enjoyed practicing hatha yoga through two pregnancies and post-partum.
She turned to a serious 5-year vinyasa practice, which ended with a hip injury, a years-long recovery, and a new-found respect for not ignoring your body's cues.
The road to recovery took Eve from physical therapy to massage, chiropractic help, and osteopathic medicine, back to physical therapy and prolotherapy and finally to personal training (and Clay Fitness) in 2009.
When most people think of personal training they think about paying for one-on-one sessions with someone who gives them undivided attention for an hour at a time.
Unfortunately, for many people that one hour of training isn't enough to have a long lasting effect.
When Clay trainers work with clients, it is a relationship that extends beyond the face-to-face personal training time.
Whether your goal is to lose weight, increase muscle mass, or improve your performance (in life or sport), nutrition and diet play a significant role in attaining and maintaining success.
It is our goal to see everyone get better.
We don't promote a perfect way to look, or a perfect sport to practice - we just want to see you transcend.
You can come to us overweight and de-conditioned, or you can come having just finished an iron man race - we all have space to improve.
For most people, exercise is a lot more fun and effective when they have a specific goal and a finite amount of time to accomplish that goal.
That is what makes Clay different.
Our multi-week programs combine all of the pieces of an effective training program in one place.
Clay Fitness Independent Study Programs are designed to allow people who work out individually to ensure that they are staying on target and have some semblance of accountability and follow-up.
The Independent Study Program is for experienced fitness practitioners who already know how to perform all standard movements (plank, squat, lunge, push-up, jumping.) with good form, and who have access to some fitness equipment.
If you are new to working out, or have mobility or stability issues or muscular imbalances, this is probably not the right program for you.
