Waxman's Gym
We teach and coach the Olympic lifts and related barbell exercises for health, fitness, sports performance, and competition. If you think you have what it takes to train as a competitive weightlifter, we want to talk to you. The primary difference is the nature of the programming: Group training is not customized, Custom Coaching is. All Group Training participants perform the same workout on any given day.

This option is best for those who have some experience with the Olympic lifts and want to get better but aren't seeking a custom program. Custom coaching is a completely personalized experience. You create your own schedule with customized programming tailored to your needs and goals. We don't require any threshold level of skill. Whether you have never lifted before, are just starting out, or have many years of experience, we'll gladly work with anyone who is serious about learning and improving.

If you have little or no experience with the Olympic lifts, you can start by learning the basics.
Services
Developing a successful competitive weightlifting team is a big part our mission at Waxman's Gym.
No matter your prior experience, we provide coaching support for all who wish to compete.
At the highest levels, our competition team strives for medals at national and international meets.
To date, we've developed two top-ten finishers at the World Championships, a World University Championship silver medalist, a Pan Am Championship silver medalist, two Pan Am Championship team members, two National Champions, six national medalists and more than two dozen national-level competitors.
Our gym is different from any other in Southern California.
We provide world-class coaching in an old-school environment featuring Olympic weightlifting and barbell training.
We get you moving through proper ranges of motion and help you develop efficient lifting technique.
Then we get you strong as hell!
Want to learn the basics of the snatch and clean and jerk?
In just nine lessons, you'll learn the Olympic lifts just like you would in person at our gym.
First we'll break them down for you into simple parts, then we help you put the parts together and practice the full movements.
The course is self-guided, self-paced, and best of all: Free.
Note: Though we're not lifting heavy weights here, it helps if you have access to a barbell for this course.
However you could substitute a broomstick or equivalent and follow along just fine.
Want periodic feedback from professional weightlifting coaches without a new daily/weekly commitment?
Join our Technique Club.
You'll schedule sessions with us twice each month (you control the days and times!) and work with our coaches on any aspect of your lifts.
This is the best way to work with a personal weightlifting coach without a huge ongoing commitment.
Group Programming provides you with daily group programming, onsite training, and personalized coaching feedback up to 6 days/week.
You'll train with us using consecutive, periodized training programmed in 6-week blocks.
For the first time, we're offering a remote coaching program focused solely on technique for the Olympic lifts.
The introductory price for the program is $90/mo (without programming) or $125/mo (with programming).
If you ever wished you could work directly with our coaches, known worldwide for developing efficient technique in the Olympic lifts, now you can.
