Barbara Steinmetz, owner, and founder of B-FIT tells her story of working out and the great idea of being a size sensitive, body-positive, size diverse personal trainer.
I understand the awkwardness you have felt in a big box gym, not fitting into a class filled with fit women, feeling intimidated, and alone.
I know what it feels like to want to work out but feel uncomfortable about your size, shape, or fitness ability.
Functional longevity is the ability TO DO everything you NEED to do, LIKE to do, and WANT to do, for as LONG as possible.
Love Your Age Fitness as the Wanaque Reserve is a strength and conditioning program designed for the active, functioning ager who is living independently.
Consultations are held at the Clubhouse.
When I 1st met with Barbara, we both thought the same thing.
That I was not coming back.
60 years old, 100+ lbs overweight, having a hard time walking and not believing that I could do it.
But here I am, 1.5 yrs later & doing it.
From that first day, my life changed.
I started in a chair and then I was standing and now I do heavy kettle bells & weights.
I could not have done this without the woman who changed my life.
Barbara KNOWS what it is like to be overweight & overlooked.
She faced tremendous prejudice & road blocks in becoming a trainer yet here she is working with women like me.
