We are private instruction/small group self defense, martial arts, and fitness studio located in northern Virginia. We believe that everyone is different and therefore training should be individualized. When you come to Workhorse Combative Fitness we will sit down with you and discuss what your goals and expectations are, to tailor your program to you.
Whether you are looking to get in shape, build self confidence, or just learning a new skill set, our instructors will help you every step of the way. Erik has been practicing martial arts for 25 years and teaching for 19. He holds a 4th Dan rank in Tae Kwon Do, 3rd Dan in Yoshitsune Combat Jujutsu, 1st Dan in Hapkido and is a PDR Fundamentals Coach.
Erik competed heavily for 6 years in the competition circuit for Tae Kwon Do. Erik has a passion for teaching and is always looking for ways to more effectively coach techniques to his students. Erik is also a Crossfit L1, and holds certifications in CrossFit Striking and Crossfit Strongman.

Combat Jujitsu classes are a system utilizing joint manipulation.
Ranging from basic blocks to striking and weapon defense kata.
Students learn how to bring a opponent into a total state of submission, without resorting to heavy hand and leg strikes.
This class focuses on hand, arm, leg, and foot strikes against bags, mitts, and shields.
Along with utilizing kettlebells, dumbbells, sandbags, body weight, and other various strongman implements to develop a fighter's fitness level, and skill, so that you not only get a great workout, but also learn basic sport and self defense.
