Anyone - young or old, in shape or out, thin or not so thin - can get on the walls and experience the physical challenge and mental stimulation of climbing.
The Alaska Rock Gym has terrain from less than vertical to overhanging, giving virtually everyone an opportunity to "climb the walls".
We are currently offering our "Intro to Gym Climbing" class on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday evenings from 7-9 pm.
This is a great way to become familiar with the gym and indoor climbing!

Anyone climbing in the boulder area must be checked in at the front desk and have participated in a boulder orientation with Alaska Rock Gym staff.
All children in the bouldering area between the ages of 10 to 13 must be within eyesight of a responsible adult at all times.
Children between the ages of 10 to 13 must be under direct supervision of a responsible adult while using the auto belays.
Our after school and home school programs seek to provide an active, interesting and engaging atmosphere for new and returning climbers.
Within the after-school time frame, Kids Club and Recreational Team offer a progression of skill development, intensity and training.
Kids Club classes are best for beginners, or those kids who are looking for a more social atmosphere and less intensity; Recreational Team is for those seeking more advanced skills, intensity and focus.
Homeschool classes are staffed to accommodate both the Club and Rec disciplines, but are offered in a mid-day time frame with a two hour class period.
The Alaska Rock Gym offers great learning and training opportunities for adults and teens.
Classes cover everything from beginning climbing technique and lead climbing to special monthly clinics in training, climbing technique and injury prevention.
Teens over the age of fourteen, who are belay certified, are welcome at any adult class.
