HIGH ENERGY FITNESS, personal fitness training for women, is run by Nancy Karabaic. I have studied exercise and nutrition for over 25 years. I have been a certified personal trainer for 20 years and I'm also certified as a Post-Rehab Fitness Specialist. How does a personal trainer help you? Together we design an exercise program that will make you look and feel your best!

We'll help you to reach your short term and long term fitness goals. We will tailor your program to fit into the time you have to exercise each week. As you work on your program, you'll be motivated by the way you look and feel and the support and encouragement I provide to you. My flexible, positive and personalized training program approach will help you lose weight, build strength and increase your stamina.

Best of all, you will feel more self-confident as you reach your fitness goals!
Services
We start with a free half-hour consultation.
We discuss your short term and long term fitness goals and any limitations you might have e.g.
We talk about the time you have to reach those goals and then I propose an exercise program for you that will maximize your results for the time you have to exercise.
I offer in-home personal training to clients in Bethesda, Chevy Chase, Gaithersburg, Kensington, Northwest DC, Olney, Potomac, Rockville, Silver Spring and Takoma Park.
Below are the answers to the most commonly asked questions I receive.
1 You are an experiment of one.
No one else is living your life with your specific challenges, biochemistry, anatomy, injury history, calendar, job or family.
Take the time to find out what works for you!
2 When something works, excuse-proof it.
Make the weight loss habits that work for you as easy as possible to practice.
Keep tempting foods out of your house, out of sight and out of mind.
3 When something stops working, stop working it.
Give any new strategy at least a week before you call it quits.
Did you know a fit forty year old is physiologically younger than a sedentary 20 year old?
Plus, the health benefits from staying in shape help you to age better.
It's never too late to get fit and get strong.
Studies show that people in their 90s who started weight training saw significant improvements in their balance, strength and coordination.
If a 90 year old can see a difference, imagine the changes you will notice!
1 Aerobic exercise.
Aerobic exercise strengthens your heart and lungs.
It reduces your risk of obesity, diabetes and several other diseases.
Working with Nancy was a great way to jump start my fitness program.
She helped tailor a routine that I could pursue on my own.
I am feeling stronger, more energetic, and most importantly, more positive about my fitness future.
The summer boot camp was a great way to meet some women who had the same goals and could be supportive of each other--not to mention inspire me to get up and get going!
Thanks, Nancy!
I wanted you to know that all of the hard work we started last spring is paying off.
As you know, I couldn't work out for several years due to an accident that left my back and neck injured.
Does your metabolism need a boost?
1 Get some sunlight first thing in the morning.
This will give your body the message to decrease your sleep hormones and wake your body back up.
Walking the dog counts!
2 Eat breakfast.
Your body needs fuel first thing in the morning or your metabolism will slow down to conserve fuel.
A breakfast with some protein and fiber will help to keep you full for longer, decreasing your need for that mid-day sugar snack!
3 Take the stairs at Metro or at work.
This quick jog up the stairs will increase your body's production of human growth hormone (HGH).
