What is Crossfit?
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive.
Our specialty is not specializing.
Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
CrossFit contends that a person is as fit as they are proficient in each of ten general physical skills: cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy.

For those potential members that have a sound background in exercise movement or were previous Crossfit members, we provide the option of jumping right into our regular Crossfit classes.
You must demonstrate to the coaches (over the course of a few classes) that you have knowledge and proficiency of the exercises we use at Lane 5 Crossfit.
These include barbell movements, and body weight movements.
We want to ensure members are properly prepared to avoid injury and to feel comfortable in the faster pace class format.

Our Crossfit Classes are programmed weekly to provide the best workout for our members.
We start off with one of our dynamic warmups prior to any of our classes, which is then usually followed with an individual 15- 20 minute strength workout.
After completing the strength workout, we complete our class with the workout of the day (WOD), which usually lasts under 20 minutes.
The workout of the day combines Gymnastic movements, Olympic Weightlifting, and Metabolic Conditioning into a high intensity interval training session, creating an optimum setting for building muscle, increasing endurance, and building a healthier body.

Olympic lifts are very challenging technically, but mastering these movements can be very rewarding.
The Olympic Lifting Class is a time to specifically practice the clean & jerk, and snatch.
The Olympic Lifting Class will last 1 to 1.5 hours a week.
Time spent with coaching and time built in for lifting.
The classes will involve proper warm-up routines, mobility and drills, followed by lifting sessions to improve strength and position.
If you would like to improve these lifts for everyday Crossfit classes, competition purpose, or to add in some extra squatting to your weekly routine, this is for you.
