Services
Owner & sole trainer for 13 Strikes Boxing & Fitness, Kevin Gerstel has years of experience as both a trainer and competitive amateur boxer, as well as a formal education & respected certification in the field of exercise science.
Kevin received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine from Merrimack College in 2003, with a concentration in Exercise Physiology.
He became recognized as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) after sitting for the certification exam in 2004.
Learning how to box enhances one's ability to better absorb punches, avoid punches through practical defensive maneuvers, and counter-punch with speed & power.
These skills can often intimidate thugs instantly, and end unavoidable physical altercations quickly & efficiently.
Grappling, submission holds, and ground-fighting are all valuable skills.
But if outnumbered on the street, it is far from ideal to be wrestling an attacker on the ground, giving other enemies the chance to stomp & strike while you are entangled & vulnerable.
In-home training is another option for clients of 13 Strikes.
Whether for convenience, complete privacy, or to save time for clients by eliminating commute, in-home training is a popular choice for many clients.
Clients may also choose to receive training at outdoor sites or at select fitness clubs in some cases.
Because of the trainer's time being of major value, clients who require that the trainer travel can expect to pay significantly more than studio clients, and how far the trainer must travel is directly related to the price charged per session.
PRIVATE SESSION SHARING - Clients who share private sessions with family or friends can expect significant savings per person.
Private groups can include anywhere from 2-5 people.
These group sessions can be used for boxing training by appointment.
The more people involved in the private sessions, the cheaper the cost per person.
Session sharing adds just $20 to individual session prices, regardless of how many total people.
