SPECIAL NOTES: Make sure you ask your technician about the voltage your treadmill is pulling. By using a multimeter to measure amperage, this will help insure you avoid costly expenses down the road. Services
The resistance you fight physically in the gym and the resistance you fight in life can only build a strong character.
In 1977, I was in High School and found my first job in a bicycle shop.
After 18 years of learning everything I could in various shops, I decided it was time to build my own business.
I started building bicycles for department stores in late 1994.
I also wanted to help as many people as I could with quality service.
And that's how I found Colorado.
I was still building bicycles for department stores at the time, but quickly turned into building everything from bicycles and exercise equipment to patio grills, lawn furniture, and other home furnishings.
Exercise equipment service can vary.
Commercial equipment needs to be managed and serviced more frequently than home equipment.
The constant use requires a technician to pay close attention to detail to reduce the risk to injury to the user and keep the equipment up and running for a longer life time.
Fitness centers constantly being used can be serviced as much as every two months.
This will vary according to usage.
This time frame can be figured by inspecting and servicing them for the first time, then scheduling another service 3 to 6 months lafter to see how much dirt & wear has occured from one service point to another.
Over the last five years there have been changes in running belt, decks and lubricants.
Information on what type of belt and lubricant should be used is widely spread.
There has been spike in "loss of performance" in belts due to misrepresentation of belt types and lubricants.
Avoid poor performance and damage to circuit boards by having belts, decks & lube inspected and tested by a knowledgeable technician with a VOLTAGE METER.
This will insure the true performance of your treadmills.
Commercial treadmills should be on a service program every six month in moderate use centers.
Commercial ellipticals usually are built with more bearings than bushing.
Preventative maintenance is still as necessary as doing repairs when they become noisey.
They are best to be checked and serviced every six months under moderate use.
Constant use should be checked every three months.
They should be checked for play in joints and greased where needed.
Drive belts are usually needed in the five year time frame.
At that point, cleaning and replacing drive belts and any worn parts is a good idea.
Commercial bikes should have the housings removed about once a year.
Most of them are very durable and will hold up a lot of use before parts needing to be replaced.
But any time there are noises due to dry metal or worn bearings, worn parts should be replaced to reduce further damage to other vital parts.
Drive belts should be inspected for cracks and wear and replace no later than five year time frame.
Also dust and debris should be removed from generators and power supplies located on the inside of the housing to prevent overheating.
