We're still having fun today with an earnest commitment to our members to provide exceptional education and exceptional personal attention. You don't have to be Fifty at Physical Therapy by Fifty 'n Fit! We want to be sure to point out that we treat all ages in our physical therapy practice; we love our young athletes and we love our older patients (and everyone in between)!

As you exercise at home, please be sure to do so in a safe, obstruction-free environment. Be alert to your surroundings and avoid furniture, tight spaces, obstacles, trip hazards, and uneven floor surfaces. Thank you! As always, be safe! And remember the rule: "If it hurts, it's wrong!"
Services
Our focus at Fifty 'n Fit is safe and appropriate exercise for a 50-year-old and above population.
Every exercise program is designed for the individual.
We all have different needs, weaknesses, areas of tightness, medical and orthopedic issues to work on, and personal goals that certainly should be pursued.
Every exercise performed in the gym should relate to real-life movement patterns and real-life activities.
That is what we refer to as functional exercise.
As you exercise at home, please be sure to do so in a safe, obstruction-free environment.
We're still having fun today with an earnest commitment to our members to provide exceptional education and exceptional personal attention.
Our gym members are at least 50 years old!
That creates a very different environment from the big, bustling multi-generational fitness centers.
Fifty 'n Fit is owned and operated by physical therapists.
That means safe and appropriate exercise for our members.
We operate under a medical model, which means that we have expertise to offer with common issues like osteopenia and osteoporosis, spinal stenosis, shoulder impingement, arthritic knees.
Individuals may join in the calendar year that they will turn 50; spouses may join if one member of the couple is 50.
Can older adults, including those with medical issues, really exercise enough to make a difference?
There are very important exercises that the person with bone loss really would be wise to do; and there are exercises that are truly dangerous and the person with osteoporosis should never do.
We love to teach all that is important to know about exercising safely, posture correction, balance and fall prevention, the very significant value of strength training, and everyday body mechanics (lifting, sitting, moving safely) for the person with osteoporosis or osteopenia.
Please join us for our "Balance Training and Fall Prevention" Classes.
Just call (505) 271-9616 for answers to your questions or to let us know you'd like to attend.
Each series consists of four progressive sessions.
Cost: $20 per session, or $70 if you sign up for the series of 4 (recommended).
