The private office has strength training equipment, free weights, med and exercise balls, kettlebells, Bosu balance training, and a recumbent bicycle for your warm up/cool down. Ask the HR leader at your company. Many corporations want their employees to get fit and stay fit! I have organized and facilitated small group fitness classes in the on-site corporate gym.

This is usually a month long event to help a company's employees begin and maintain a healthy exercise program.

Even if you've never been active, it's never too late to reap the many health benefits of regular exercise. Regular cardiovascular exercise, such as brisk walking, bicycling or swimming strengthens the heart and muscles, boosts energy and endurance. It also helps control blood sugar and cholesterol levels and works as a natural mood elevator.

I am a runner and have completed multiple marathons and four ultra marathons.
I also enjoy competing in shorter distances (5K to 10K), and with instruction from Tom Tellez (former University of Houston and Carl Lewis' Coach), I started winning age group awards -- but we're not saying which age group!
In 1996, I was on a team of HARRA master's women who established a Guinness Book of World Records record for the masters women's 100 x 1-mile relay.
With a gentle push from my long-time friend, Carl Lewis (Olympic Champion and Author of "One More Victory Lap" (1996), I began organized strength training in 2001 and used a Personal Trainer.
Ellen has done month-long on-site fitness challenges and one-day fitness follow ups.
She has led groups of 4 to 6 employees of varying degrees of fitness through a) stretching, b) stability and c) strength exercises.
Ellen's passion for fitness is obvious and she was extremely flexible to meet our needs and adapt as we modified the wellness challenge throughout the month.

Stretching expert Bob Anderson says that stretching should never hurt; you should only feel "mild discomfort".
Our favorite stretching book is: "Stretching" by Bob Anderson.
You will see several different stretches for most parts of the body.
This will allow you to customize your stretching program.
Bob Anderson has custom pages for a LOT of different sports.
He has also added recommendations for non-athletic concerns, like "Desk and Computer" stretches.
