NeXa has changed my life. I feel better; my body feels better. If anyone is considering adding pilates into their exercise routine, this is the place to do it. I'm not a youngster. I'm 66 years old. But, after my private sessions, I feel 16! The place is beautiful, streaming outside light throughout and the studio is spotless and kept incredibly clean and hygienic.

We believe in challenging the body in a multi-faceted way to create a lasting change in the body.
To do this, we have created a fully equipped Pilates studio that offers all levels of both private and group classes taught by our classically trained instructors, most of whom have over 10 years of experience.
Our neighborhood studio on the Upper West Side features Classical Pilates equipment by Gratz Pilates.
At NeXa, we are committed to helping our clients achieve their fitness goals in a safe, knowledgeable and welcoming environment.
The Pilates Standard Mat work training program consists of 100 hours and contains 4 modules.
This is the basis for all of our training programs.
You will learn 21 beginner exercises & become familiar with The Pilates Standard teaching components (philosophy, teaching method, and class structure).
You will learn the idea level excercises on the Mat and how to incorporate them into the intro to Mat sequence.
This course will improve your ability to teach people of all pages and fitness levels.
Knowing how to teach clients with chronic injuries and/or specific illnesses is integral in the daily work of a pilates professional.
Tactile or 'hands-on' cueing, is the most effective way to indicate action, direction and intention to our clients.
Do you feel comfortable using your hands when you need to?

Are you confident spotting clients on more advanced exercises, where safety is involved?
Join Master trainer Anna Clark as she goes through each of the original 34 mat exercises to show how you can align, assist, resist or stretch your clients in each exercise.
Anna has been teaching for Pilates for 18 years and runs Nexa Pilates and Fitness in NYC.
Our goal is to honor the original method of Joseph H Pilates. We stay true to the classical Pilates method, analyze it's fundamental concepts and teach with an in-depth and intelligent approach to our training programs.
The Pilates Standard Comprehensive, Mat and several continuing education workshops were designed by the late Bob Liekens, a second generation Pilates instructor coming directly from the Romana Kryzanovska lineage.
Throughout his 35 year teaching career, Bob became one of the most sought out master trainers of all time.
