Services
The Lafayette Family YMCA has a rich history that led to its place as a community resource for health, education, and youth development.
Our work to grow and improve programs and opportunities in the Greater Lafayette area is rooted in the dedication of our exceptional community members, past and present.
While the YMCA organization was founded in 1844, the Lafayette Y opened in 1889.
Purdue University's Dr. Stanley Coulter took the lead as the first president of the local YMCA, creating a strong foundation for the Y to guide the community.
Keep reading to learn how the Y is reopening with modified operations and safety precautions.
It is highly recommended that members, program participants, and guest wear a face covering (when not working out) and maintain a minimum 6-foot distance between each other.
There will be floor markers indicating areas where people should stand in our lobby and waiting area.
Facility use that requires reservations (aquatics, group fitness classes, and Kids Zone) will only be for members.
Children 14 years of age and under may be in the building, but they must visit with an adult who is responsible for them at all times.
We love helping kids of every age reach their potential.
From infant care to day camp, we provide a nurturing and educational space for your child.
The YMCA has a long history of providing fun, character-building youth development opportunities to communities just like ours.
The Lafayette Family YMCA is no different!
With our youth development programs, we provide exceptional care for your children, while helping to strengthen their natural curiosity with valuable activities for every stage of their lives.
With our community partners, the YMCA facility offers a variety of services and opportunities to help you stay healthy and happy.
With Franciscan Health, IU Health, and the YMCA in one building, we are able to provide the resources of a community health center for you.
The Lafayette Family YMCA offers a wide variety of programs for all age groups to help you have fun on your fitness journey.
Our staff, instructors, wellness coaches, and personal trainers would love to guide you on your path to wellness.
At the Y, we are always taking steps to be a local resource for wellness, youth development, and community care.
Our exceptional members and community partners allow us to take the positive, productive actions we need to keep moving forward.
By working together, we can all positively impact the world around us through volunteering and donating to programs that make a difference in the lives of those in need.
We take pride in the work we do at the Lafayette Family YMCA, but our volunteers and donors are the true stars of the show.
