The experience inspired him to open his own state-of-the-art gym where everyone could succeed. Joel DuBose's pathway to personal training began at the grocery store, where he found himself drawn to the bodybuilder magazines lining the shelves above the candy while waiting for his mother to checkout.
A skinny kid, Joel wondered how the world-known bodybuilders like Frank Zane, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Lou Ferrigno (The Hulk), displayed on the covers built their bodies to such perfection.
As he got older, Joel went on to play four years of basketball at Irmo High School, where his passion for training intensified as he learned how to build muscle to compete.
